Varicose Vein Healing Creams Equal Money Wasted

I've seen a few online ads lately for vein healing creams, touted as a "simple" home remedy for varicose veins and spider veins. Even local pharmacies stock these vein solutions that in no way resolve the veins or cure the medical condition of venous insufficiency. The leading two ingredients are aloe and arnica, both of which are known to soothe dry skin and perhaps ease bruising, but they do not treat the vein conditions listed on the labels.

Physicians recognize that the medical issues related to varicose veins, such as pain, aching, and swelling, are due to backpressure cause by gravity pushing downward on the normal direction of blood flow. The precise cause of the reversed flow is detected by a venous ultrasound examination, and we base treatment on the results of this test.

The correction of backflow is what leads to resolution of the symptoms and reduces the risk of blood clots due to varicose veins. Simple office procedures, such as the Venefit Procedure, phlebectomy and sclerotherapy each have a role in resolving the vein conditions. Many of these treatments are covered under your health plan, so there is very little benefit in wasting money on ineffective creams and lotions that will leave you disappointed.
